Place-Based Hope: Affordable Housing, Resident Voice, and the Future of Community Impact

Dr. Sarah Combs, President & CEO of Metropolitan Ministries

Speaker Description of The Discussion:

How do communities move beyond fragmented services to create real pathways out of poverty? This talk explores place-based models that bring together affordable housing, wraparound support, and cross-sector partnership in a holistic way. Through the resident lens theory, including insights from a PhotoVoice doctoral project, we will examine how public, private, faith, and neighborhood partners can co-create systems that promote dignity, stability, and long-term opportunity. The conversation will also consider how technology and AI can be used responsibly to strengthen human services and community impact.
